December is a time of transition. It is the time of the year again when I reflect on the results of my actions in 2023, what I declared I would take action around, and what I said I would create. This year, I took a different goal-setting approach based on a framework I'd learned in my coaching program. I'm also returning to my interest and fascination with human nature and why we do what we do, now working in a new setting and from a new perspective. I've noticed things that have shifted in my being that have created this new normal for myself, and it's time to celebrate.
The end of the year is approaching, yet the beginning of our next opportunity still lies ahead, coming this January. How do you feel this year went for you? Are you satisfied with your results and how you showed up to do what you said you would do? In 2023, I wanted to compare the results of new intentions and actions, declaring a vision for my future and committing goals to that vision to my N.E.T. Action Plan for Productivity, which has supported my achieving meaningful goals for years. I write about that process in Where the Change Happens.
There's something in the process of finding what works for us and being willing to say, "Once in a while, I may need to shift." Sometimes, what worked before is no longer working, and it may become the barrier to making progress around a new area where we see value. A new area in which we would like to stretch our comfort zone or expand our capacity to develop some skill or whatnot.
In 2024, what do I declare possible for the future that I didn't see possible in 2023? What do you see possible for your future? Think of stacking domino's now to build your path of consistency and eventual momentum. I like to begin this process by reflecting on five things I've learned over the year. I also review my Last Week From My Perspective exercise, which I still complete every Sunday, and review each week's priorities, declarations, insights, book quotes that would be supportive, and journal insights that I've found a breakthrough around and reflect on what five things I'm proud of from this year. Where is it that I’ve experienced that "wow," that was when the shift happened, the moment where enough was enough, the moment that sparked an idea?
What would you write if you'd sat down and spent as much time as needed for an exercise like this? What did you learn this year? What are you proud of from 2023?
Just imagine connecting with others, expanding your presence in your community, saying what you need to say when you need to, and feeling empowered for the first time. What would you want to say or put on your list? What do you want to create in your life? Is there something you can say at this moment that you could do today that would be a step forward in the direction of a possibility becoming your reality?
There are no limits to imagination and no barriers to the next step. I invite you to the possibility of your future. I'm committed to being present to support those who are willing to be on the journey. As one who stands on a path forward, I find myself just now at the stage of living my dream and connecting to people in a way that I declared that I would move to Seattle to do. Even when finding disappointing moments on the journey, I still recognized that I was serving my purpose and connecting with my mission. We want to be able to notice our response and have the tools to process experiences and our emotions, find a place of completion and empowerment, and stand for something that we will declare and fulfill.
This is my vision for my community, where we are willing to learn how to embody what it takes. I want to invite anyone who values expanding their capacity beyond what they currently see as possible where they currently are; if you feel like there's more, there's potential, or something there that stirs within you that you would like to see, or is a vision of possibility that you would like to experience in your reality, in the present of your life, I invite you to reach out to Where the Change Happens Coaching for a conversation around the possibility. What do you see for your life that you wish to create?
If you can even vocalize some capacity, we can design a way for your path forward to inspire the experience of your lifetime. I'm also excited to share that this website is being updated, and in the next week, you will see what I mean regarding taking the next step forward with the change I declared for our future.
